Community Involvement

Individuals who live at Community Living are actively involved in their communities. They assist staff in planning regular community integration. Activities are designed to meet the needs and interests of the individuals involved. Many residents enjoy dining out, movies, bowling, shopping, theater, concerts and sporting events. Residents also take advantage of other community groups that provide activities such as local school districts, community education and Special Olympics. Seasonal activities like parades, fairs, apple orchards, etc. are routinely scheduled. Residents also participate at a variety of local churches. Community Living maintains a fleet of vehicles including lift vans to meet the transportation needs of our residents. Residents are given the assistance they need to maintain active involvement with their families. Birthdays, holidays and special occasions are celebrated in ways that are important to our residents.
